Bikes

The Netherlands is known of her bikes. The numbers say that we even have more bikes in our country than people. That can be true, because most of the people own 2 or more bikes. Mountain bikes, racing bikes, a bike placed at a station to drive to school for example, mother bicycles, bikes to deliver mail. As you can see, we have a lot of different uses for bikes. The Netherlands is also known for the good cycle paths. Bike paths are almost everywhere and also on both sides of the road. The bike paths are sprinkled with salt when it snows, so that they are still usable to bike on.

I think this is also a thing that Dutch people are proud of. A lot of people do almost everything by bike. In Amsterdam, our capital city, there are rarely cars and parking places. Before I went to Finland, I was not aware of this, because it’s just normal to see so many bikes. But I see a big difference between the Netherlands and Finland when it comes to driving a bike.
